Gary Hunt's Easy Start Method for Breaking Colts covers five days of instruction with three horses, all with different temperaments, for a quick, easy and effective way to start your colt. There is 3 hours and 41 minutes of instruction on a 2 disk set.

5 Sessions over 5 Days 

The first disk begins with Gary Hunt's rodeo and racing background and moves into a Demonstration of Ground Manners and also introduces the Equipment for Day 1 and Day 2 sessions.  The second disk completes the program with Day 3, Day 4 and Day 5.

Day 1 - Sacking Out and Saddling

On Day one, he will warm up the colt going both directions, then he sacks him out with his hands.  Then, with his sack out blanket.  He will brush the colt and saddle him and lets the colt move out with the saddle on.

Day 2 - Sacking Out and Saddling Head-to-Tail

Day two is a repeat of Day One, with the addition of tying the colt's head to his tail

Day 3 -  Driving Your Colt with the Halter

On day three, he sacks the colt out with a cotton rope and drives him with a halter after completing the warm up.

Day 4 -  Driving Your Colt with the Big Ring Snaffle Bit

Today, he will warm him up both ways and drive the colt with a snaffle bit.

Day 5 - Riding Your Colt 

On Day five, he will repeat Day Four, but after driving the colt, he will get on and ride.

Ground Manners
Ground manners are important to you and your horse.
Throughout the video you will hear me talk a lot about ground manners and how important they are to you and your horse. 

I want to show you just what ground manners look like. 

This horse has been around me for awhile, and he has ground manners.  When I'm working with him, he has learned that he must pay attention to me and not move. 

I don't recommend you take his rope off, but I'm doing it just to show you that this horse is not being forced to stand here, but he is doing so because he has learned to do so.
